Tryouts

RETURNING OUTLAW PLAYERS -  Believe it, or not, it is that time of year again.  I realize that our teams our still playing their season, but I also know many of our competitors have started their tryout process already.  Therefore we are asking, if you plan to return next season, please register your son for the 2026 season by June 30th.  Returning players must register for the 2026 season to be considered for a roster position on one of our 2026 teams. Players currently on an Outlaw roster DO NOT need to come to tryouts. We have seen all of our current Outlaw players throughout the winter and during the season so there is no need for them to attend tryouts. Current Outlaw players may be considered for 2026 teams based on our staffs evaluations over the course of this season and the winter workouts as well as where we feel the player will get the most development and playing time for them to continue their Outlaw journey.

PLAYERS 15U AND OLDER

For players 15U and up please fill out the tryout registration then send an email to anthonywuenstel@gmail.com to request a tryout.  Please make sure you fill out the electronic registration form.  Our staff will reach out to you to schedule a tryout.  Please include playing history in the email.  Include any travel team experience and also any high school team experience.  Please also indicate your primary position and any secondary positions.

PLAYERS THAT CANNOT ATTEND TRYOUT DATES 

If you indicated on your registration form that you cannot make either tryout date, you will be contacted for a workout by July 24th. If you don't here from us by then, please contact Anthony or Joe.

DAY OF THE TRYOUT

Registration Table:

We ask that you please arrive at least a half hour prior to the start of your tryout. The registration table will open at 5:00pm to start checking players in for the first group of the day.

All players are required to check in at the registration table upon arrival.  Players will be given a number to stick on their T-shirt.

Each player's parents are required to fill out a Liability Release form. The form is attached here. You can print it, fill it out and bring it with you. This will speed up the registration process. We will have copies of the form at the tryout for your convenience as well.

Tryout Fee

There is a $20 tryout fee that you paid when you registered. If you did not register online, you can bring the fee with you the day of the tryout. You do not need to mail this fee before hand. Please make all checks out to:

IMPORTANT

WE ALSO REQUIRE A $600 DEPOSIT CHECK AT THE TIME OF TRYOUTS. THIS IS FOR ALL RETURNING AND NEW PLAYERS. THIS CHECK WILL ONLY BE DEPOSITED WHEN AND IF YOU YOU ARE OFFERED AND ACCEPT A POSITION IN OUR PROGRAM. IF YOU ARE NOT OFFERED OR YOU DECLINE AN OFFERED POSITION YOUR CHECK WILL BE SHREDDED. THE $600 IS THEN USED TOWARDS YOUR SEASON FEES.

What to bring:

Have your player dress like he is going to baseball practice.  Make sure they wear their cleats (MOLDED CLEATS ONLY, NO METAL CLEATS), baseball pants, baseball cap etc. Make sure they bring their glove, bat and batting helmet.

Below is the tryout schedule for 14 and under. Tryouts for 15U and up will be by individual appointment.  You should attend the tryout session for the age that you will be for the 2025 Season. We use the April 30th cut off date.  However, if for some reason you cannot make the time slot for your sons age group, you are welcome to attend another session.

For the age groups with multiple tryout dates, players are not required to attend both days, however if your player is new to the organization, we strongly suggest that you make an effort to attend both days. The more we see of a player, the better we can evaluate.

The Pittsburgh Outlaws use the age determination of April 30th, 2025 The age you are on this day, is the age you will play for the 2025 season.
